Healing Through Nature & Connection...

Growing up, I was privileged to be able to access many types of animals that brought me an endless amount of joy, self-reflection and growth. Today, I am extremely grateful to bring the power of animal-assisted therapy and walking therapy into my work with clients and have the honour to witness how the connection between animals, nature and humans, truly heals us.

The Importance of Therapy

A message from Kiersten...

Starting the search for a therapist can feel overwhelming. I remember my own experience as a client—scrolling through Google looking for the “best therapists in Edmonton,” only to feel more uncertain than when I began. Like many people, it took meeting with a couple different professionals before I truly understood what I needed in a therapeutic relationship.

So who is therapy for? Therapy isn’t only for those who have experienced trauma. Often, people come to therapy because they feel stuck or overwhelmed and are searching for a supportive, objective space to process life's challenges. Therapy offers a safe and welcoming environment to explore the deeper roots of our thoughts, emotions, and patterns—especially the ones that tend to repeat themselves. Working with a therapist means having someone in your corner: an advocate who listens with care and helps you feel truly seen and understood.

Choosing to attend therapy does not mean you are broken or weak. Rather, it reflects a willingness to invest in yourself, nurture your well-being, and move toward a healthier and more fulfilling future.

A few happy words

I had the pleasure of supervising Kiersten’s provisional hours so I have seen firsthand how compassionate, talented, and effective she is with her clients. She is a tremendous asset to our field: particularly in her work with trauma and first responders, and I am privileged to call her a colleague and friend.
